As the first weekday of EMS Week 2025 comes to a close, the White House, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee's office, and local leaders throughout Tennessee have yet to publically release a proclamation or statement of recognition for EMS Week 2025. While President Trump last recognized EMS Week in 2020 during his first term in office, any mention on the White House's proclamation page of EMS week is non-existant as of Monday night. Could a proclamation have been made but not released publically yet? Maybe, but we will alot some time for webpages to be updated throughout the week.

Meanwhile, the Republican House GOP did release a statement of recognition on their Instagram page. While met with scorn by some commenters regarding budget cuts, this was a good step in the right direction. In addition, it is worth mentioning that President Trump did proclaim Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend and Police Officer's Memorial Day/Police Week for this year.

Please continue to advocate and show your support for EMS professionals this week for EMS Week and for other first responders in your communities.
